Charlamagne Tha God Upset Diddy’s Legacy Is Being ‘Burned To The Ground’: ‘It’s Sad’

Charlamagne Tha God sees nuance in the recent accusations against Diddy — while he supports the alleged victims, he has also expressed his disappointment in watching the Hip Hop veteran’s legacy crumble.

The radio host addressed the matter during a new episode of his Brilliant Idiots podcast with Andrew Schulz that was published on Saturday (March 30).

“This is a fucking raid,” he said as he watched footage of federal agents taking over Diddy’s homes across the country. “I don’t know, man, I just don’t like it. I don’t like it because it’s sad. How many peoples’ legacies have we watched burn to the ground? From Russell Simmons, Diddy …”

In response, the comedian noted that it’s good for legacies to diminish if people do bad things, which Char agreed with but added: “It’s just one emotion? Y’all all lying to yourselves if you say, ‘Yeah good for them, fuck them!’ These guys fucking provided the soundtrack to our lives. They contributed to the culture in real ways before we knew any of this shit … You have feelings, you have mixed emotions.”

The conversation begins around the 7:57 mark below:

Schulz sees things a bit differently as he made light of the situation during a recent stand-up routine in Los Angeles, California.

“LA, I got tired of the media trying to smear this great city,” he told the audience. “They’re saying you’re a bunch of fucking criminals, drug addicts and pedophiles. That is not the whole city — that is a very small specific section of the city that is called Diddy’s house.

“This is the only reason I think he might be guilty. Every celebrity in LA has had their home robbed … except Diddy. And I thought about it … it’s like bro, robbing Diddy is terrifying because what if he’s there? You break down the door, he’s butt naked on the couch, Meek Mill is sitting on his lap — just petting him like a Maltese cat.”

Meek Mill crying, ‘Oh no wait a minute! I thought you was finished;’ Diddy’s like, ‘Can’t stop, won’t stop,’” the New York City native added. “You try to run out — the door is locked. You turn around and all of a sudden you hear, [rapping] ‘You ain’t going nowhere. You ain’t going nowhere. I can’t be stopped now. It’s your asshole tonight.’”

The above passage references songs by the artists in question, namely “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mill, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” by The LOX featuring Diddy and “Bad Boy For Life” by Black Rob, Mark Curry and Diddy.

50 Cent, who has been trolling Diddy non-stop since the allegations broke, seemed to enjoy the bit as he shared the clip to his Instagram page with the caption: “You said I chose violence, HE CHOSE VIOLENCE LOL @andrewschulz bro WTF”

    1. He wouldn’t have a legacy if fruity booty assholes like you didn’t promote him despite knowing of his fuckery. Dude been a whole menace to black society for 30 whole years. Same people used to swear Suge was the devil though when big boy just stood on business. I never heard of him raping people, pimping hoes, or none of this other weirdo shit. Hell, even all of the artists complaining about their money used to be on salary at Death Row, half of them without putting out shit, and you can confirm that. On the other hand, He even let snoop’s contract get bought out when he could have squatted on him like Priority did Ras Kass or Puffy did everybody he ever fucked with. Assholes like CTG and the rest of the East Coast contingent lied to you all these years and fucked hip hop up.

      1. While I agree with most of that, Suge is a fucking dickhead too. Perhaps not rapist levels but he did use his car to kill other humans, so.. fuck him too.

      2. He’s in prison for that. I’m talking about how he got smeared and blackballed after Pac died. All the shit he used to get accused of was just disgruntled workers that you’ll find at any workplace, but Puffy a whole ass deviant who has destroyed people’s lives. Whose life did Suge destroy? He just stood on business if you crossed him. The Snoop situation is the best example. Got dude off a whole murder rap, so of course he’s going to feel a way when dude jumping ship as soon as there was any static. He could have squatted on his contract for the rest of time. Ask Ras Kass how Priority did him. It’s basically why hip hop is where it’s at now. Puffy and his industry offspring basically became the dominant voice in hip hop. Everything that they did after Pac and Biggie got killed led to where we’re at now, and Sean is directly responsible for both of their demise. It became partying, drugs, and femininity over skills and masculinity. No messages in sight in anybody’s rhymes. That was a staple of the Bad Boy sound. Lazy production. The direction he took the game is why we’re here.

    2. “These guys fucking provided the soundtrack to our lives” really? I thought Big and The Lox and Craig Mack and Mase provided that music to us, while Puff was the label head that profited from it?

Russel seemed more instrumental in creating a hip hop label at the time when there really wasn’t one, but he wasn’t writing his brothers raps. He wasn’t responsible for the level of sampling and ‘out of left field’ shit the Beastie Boys were creating. He didn’t produce anything for Public Enemy or EPMD. He gave them an opportunity, but let’s not go too far here and label him the person responsible for providing the music.

It’s sad that these guys helped destroy their own legacy, IF the stuff they’re saying is true.

    3. Well if he did nothing then he ain’t got anything to worry about. But if he has then he’s burned his own legacy down. Take responsibility for the bad things you do.

    4. Naw… He mad he never got to suck puffy off. .. don’t trust the media haha. Charlemagne has been fruity forever!!!. Wouldn’t be surprised if Charlemagne gave him the name puff daddy hahahaha

    5. If you don’t condone the underhanded conniving and scandalous ways in how he put pills in the women drink. Was that just is wrong as the raid? Sounds as if he’s swinging on Combs sack.
