Lil Baby Denies Dissing Gunna On ‘WHAM’ Deluxe: ‘I Hate That They Try To Make Narratives’

Lil Baby has denied taking a shot at Gunna on his WHAM deluxe track “Runnin’ This Shit.”

Speaking to Complex about his latest album, Baby denied that certain lines on the song were aimed at Gunna, who has been plagued by snitching allegations since pleading out of his and Young Thug‘s YSL RICO case in late 2022.

When quizzed about his pointed rhymes, the Atlanta rapper insisted: “That’s just how I rap. I hate that they try to make narratives out of shit I say. I say what I want to say. If I was speaking on certain people and shit, I would say that.”

On the song, he rapped: “I don’t care what he did, he a rat still / And I said what I said, dont at me.”

Many fans interpreted the lyrics as a jab at Gunna, especially given Baby’s past remarks about his former collaborator.

On a snippet of an unreleased song from 2023, the 4PF frontman rapped: “Pussy n-ggas taking pleas / I know Slime ain’t happy.”

He later appeared to call Gunna a “rat” when their “Drip Too Harder” song began playing at a live show, saying on the mic: “Fuck the rats, turn this shit off.”

It seems there are still issues between the pair as during a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Lil Baby bluntly shut down a potential reunion with his Drip Harder cohort.

“We don’t got no relationship. Nope,” he said.

Despite Baby’s animosity, Gunna’s former lawyer Steve Sadow has insisted that the rapper did not cooperate in any way with prosecutors to secure his freedom in the YSL RICO case.

“I was Gunna’s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf. This long post is solely to set out the truth,” he wrote on social media earlier this month after a song snippet from Young Thug emerged containing an apparent jab at Gunna.

“Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case. He spent 8 months in jail and was released in Dec. 2022 after entering an Alford plea.”

The attorney continued: “Gunna’s plea could not and was not used at Thug’s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-yr suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.

“Over the last two years, from media reports, he has performed all over the world, achieved international fame and recognition, and earned millions of dollars.”
